Food Network Star Damaris Phillips to Kick Off Series 

LOUISVILLE, KY, January 10, 2014—Down One Bourbon Bar and Restaurant is kicking off 2014 by raising money for local charities with a Charity Bartending Challenge. It kicks off on January 15, 2014 with Food Network Star Season 9 Winner & Host of Southern at Heart Damaris Phillips, with Feast BBQ Owner Ryan Rogers. The pair will compete to raise the most tips that will be donated to Star Duck Charities.  Additionally, Down One Bourbon Bar & Restaurant will donate a percentage of sales during each of the three events to the bartenders’ selected charities.  The series continues on January 22nd with Mark Barnes, director of Northeast Sales at the Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau and Garrett Tellman, Corporate Sales Manager at the Galt House Hotels; and January 29th with Robbie Valentine, a member of the 1986 National Championship University of Louisville Men’s Basketball Team and 2000 Inductee to the UofL Athletics Hall of Fame, and his wife Robyn. DJ Tank will provide entertainment at all three events.

Down One Bourbon Bar & Restaurant is currently featured in the December 2013/January 2014 issue of National Geographic Traveler Magazine.  The issue features the “Best in the World” and showcases a photo of the “Get Splashed” wall at Down One.  The restaurant and bar are ranked in the Top 55 Bourbon Bars in America by the Bourbon Review, was ranked the number three Best Bourbon Bar in Kentuckiana by, and was voted the number three best Bourbon List in the LEO Weekly’s Reader’s Choice Awards in 2013.

Down One Bourbon Bar & Restaurant opened its doors in February of 2013, next to the KFC Yum!
